Easy trail run in Boise with my Bro-Lo. Ankle felt really good after the break. 1st time I've ran in 2 weeks.

First AM run in quite a while. Felt OK but I am out of shape, this should be a walk in the park for me but I did feel like I'd lost quite a bit of fitness.

HR was sky high, I got pretty dizzy and light headed, almost lost my lunch around 6.5 I can tell it's going to be along way back.

Easy run. HR still high for this speed. Starting to feel the effects more and more of not running much over the last two months. The ankle is holding up, so even thought it's tough right now, I did finally do the right thing in just letting it rest.

Got kicked by a cow while branding and cutting I might be out a few days my thigh is pretty tender. I always get kicked because I'm in the alley trying to push cows in a narrow spot after they're already uncomfortable. Every time.....

Thigh is now ok after cow episode. Maybe that was just another way for me to rest the ankle a little more.

Slow progression run today starting a 6:58 finishing at 6:18.

Watched 9.79. I'm convinced Carl Lewis was on PED's as well. The difference between track and cycling was apparent at the end. Track chose not to go back and release results of later drug testing on samples taken years earlier. I'm still confused as to why the government likes to go back and spend millions of tax payer dollars to convict athletes, that at the time never tested positive. I do believe the number of olympic and high level athletes on PED is very high. Isn't that just society wanting stronger faster bigger?

Just trying to start base building again. More or less I really don't have much right now. My back was so tight to start with I could barely move. Popped my back and did a few pull up to see if I would loosen up but it didn't help much. Now I'm just hoping on walking in the morning.

I think I'm now starting to sound like an old man.

6:42/avg pace. A little shorter, trying not to push mileage up to high to quick. Legs are a bit blown up and tired but once I settled in after a couple of miles I felt I could've held pace awhile. Egged on a couple of high school kids while they were on the TM's next to me. I thought one might try to hold on for a few miles but was out after one. Fun talking to them, they are good kids.

Relaxed run. Legs were pretty tired and stiff as I started out so I eased into it and ran a pretty easy pace. Still trying to figure out life in Dad's basement. Leaning towards building but where now is the big question. There are a couple of spots one I like the location the other would work better for cattle and farming, so I really need to decide.

Shorter run because I forgot socks and felt blisters coming on. Progression run 5/32:30/6:30. Feeling better but slept horrible last night.

Short run with Nikki. Nothing exciting other than I ran 6 days in a row for the first time in forever. I don't think I've even approached 40 miles in a week for quite some time. This week has felt good to get back in the swing of things although it's real easy to sleep in now.

First group run in awhile. Ended up running with Jeff after the rest of the group turned back early. Good run. Hips tight from skiing yesterday. I really need to start being a bit more disciplined in getting up early and running. Need to get the habit going again. It's pretty easy to skip right now.

If you ever think "I'm hungry I'll get three corn dogs instead of two", just go with two the third ruins it.

8.3/55:25/6:41 tried to do a progression run but just couldn't keep turning up the speed. Felt really to start and really bad at the end (third corn dog).

Struggled today. I'm having some difficulty hold any type of a pace. Seems I can vary up and down, just not stay down. Of course I ate a greasy pizza for lunch and no breakfast so that might have something to do with it.

Felt great to be outside today. Run felt easy. I wore my HR monitor for the first time in awhile, mainly because I wanted to see how my body reacted to taking a 5hr energy during a run (thanks Gray for that idea). After taking it HR spiked for about a mile then settled down and felt pretty good for the remaining portion of the run, so I might try it again on a longer run. 10.55/1:11

Getting really close to trying to buy a small farm and building on it. Excited about the possibilities but not about living in Dad's basement that long. The miles might start climbing to keep the sanity.

Trying to talk my kids into skipping school Friday to go skiing.....that's right I have to talk them into it, that never had to happen to me. I skipped without a second thought. It's not too early for a snow day, right???

These are my main skiing buddies for the year. Hadley (4), Gabe (6) and Chloe (9). Chloe is now trying to ditch me and Gabe tries to hit every jump he can.

Got a call in the middle of the run from my wife telling me I needed to pick kids up from school in 15 minutes. Well since I can complain here and not anywhere else. I was a bit upset because I received the same call this morning while I was in Idaho Falls for work and just barely made it to get the little kids. On top of all this my wife decided that I need to go on the detox food shake crap thing for three days with her. I have drank two pretty nasty shakes and one now sits on my desk in front of me that I can't bear to drink. Oh and I'm not allowed to eat real food during this time frame. I've decided that I'm not going to be the supportive husband and will eat real food no more shakes for me.
